Big Birthday Appeal Jewish Princesses event

The Big Birthday Appeal recently hosted an evening with ambassadors of Kosher cooking, the Jewish Princesses. The event raised well over £3,000 for The Fed’s Project Smile which provides respite care for Jewish children with special needs.

Held at Manchester Maccabi Centre, the evening featured a live cookery demonstration from The Jewish Princess co-founders, Georgie Tarn and Tracey Fine, and their helper for the evening, Simone Pinkus.  As they demonstrated how to cook a range of dishes, including churros with chocolate for Chanukah, the Princesses related how they met as nine-year-olds on holiday in Italy and have gone on to write three, highly successful cook books together. They are currently working on their fourth title.

Mother-of-four Anne Feingold, a longstanding Big Birthday supporter, opened the event. Clare Spieler, who helped organise the evening, gave an overview of the Appeal’s success in educating children to give charity. She also launched a video made at the recent opening of a multi-sensory playroom at The Fed – a facility which was funded entirely by Big Birthday.

The event also marked the launch of Big Birthday’s brand new greetings card which has been specifically designed to fit any milestone birthday, from sixteenth to one hundredth.

Each guest received a fit-for-princess goody bag including sumptuous cake pops by Cakes by Hilary and recipe cards so they could replicate the Princesses’ success at home. A range of fantastic raffle prizes were won, including a Miele vacuum cleaner and Venture Photography experience worth £500.

Big Birthday Appeal mum, Clare Spieler who helped organise the event, said: “The evening was a great success and we’re over the moon to have raised in excess of £3000 to fund respite care for local Jewish children with special needs.”

Jewish Princesses, Georgie and Tracey, have changed the public’s perception with their original take on Kosher food and the Jewish lifestyle. They have three bestselling books behind them: The Jewish Princess Cookbook, Having Your Cake and Eating It; The Jewish Princess Feasts and Festivals, with Family and Friends; and The Jewish Princess Guide To Fabulosity.
