About the Big Birthday Appeal

Do you worry that your children are being given too much, too young? Would you like to encourage them to think about others who aren’t as lucky as they are? Are you keen to help other children who are disabled, neglected or underprivileged?

The Big Birthday Appeal has been conceived to address all these needs together. The very first appeal of its kind, Big Birthday aims to:

raise money for children’s charities

teach children to give charity regularly

encourage them to consider children who are in need

teach them to not take everything for granted

allow them to understand the value of money.

Support the Appeal and you’ll be giving your kids the gift of giving - and letting them help others less fortunate than themselves. There are practical benefits for parents, too. You’ll save yourself time, hassle and expense with no more need to trot round the shops buying over-priced birthday cards or wrapping paper.

Educating our children to give
We consider it crucial to engage children in charity giving right from the age of two or three. That’s why we work closely with nurseries and primary schools, taking assemblies and running a range of special projects to inspire children to give to others.
